2022 Chevy Silverado Trail Boss ZR2 Was Spotted!
For fans of pickup trucks, Chevrolet has an exciting new vehicle in the works. The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado Trail Boss ZR2 aims to outshine the competition. It is specifically focusing on the segment that includes vehicles like the Ford Raptor or the Ram TRX. People recently spotted a sneak peek of the new Trail Boss ZR2 on the streets of Detroit. The teaser images reveal a beefed-up version of the Chevy Silverado Trail Boss with exciting new features and amazing capabilities. What The Sneak Peak Tells Us
Chevrolet originally introduced the ZR2 package on the Colorado, another one of Chevy’s fan-favorite pickups. The Colorado ZR2 embodies off-road power and full-size capability in a midsize package. For the 2022 model year, Chevy is extending the Trail Boss ZR2 to the Silverado.
When the new Trail Boss ZR2 was spotted in Detroit, the images reveal a beefed-up, highly durable pickup with added strength compared to the regular Silverado Trail Boss. Although the body was hidden behind tarp covers, the pickup had a high clearance front bumper, a loud front skid plate, and a taller stance. This means the new Trail Boss ZR2 likely has a suspension lift beyond the Trail Boss’ 2-inch lift. It was outfitted with red tow hooks, Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac off-road tires, 17-inch wheels, and Silverado towing gear. This gives it a full capability upgrade.
There’s A Trail Boss ZR2 For You!
The new Trail Boss ZR2 is the top-level trim of the classic Chevrolet Silverado, but it also has several variations of itself. Customers can find what they need with the Custom or LT versions. The Custom model comes equipped with a front bench seat, and the mighty 6.2L V8 engine is available on the Custom variant, even in the smaller Double Cab body. The LT model offers a bit more luxury with more standard features, including dual-climate control.
What To Expect From The 2022 Silverado
Although Chevrolet is still keeping all of the details on the Trail Boss ZR2 secret, we have some ideas. We expect Chevy will fully upgrade the Silverado for the 2022 model year, including the 2022 Silverado interior. This means new connectivity and safety technology, along with newly-designed architecture. It will be heading to Chevrolet dealers later this year. With all of this on the horizon, now is the time to check out the all-new 2022 Chevrolet Silverado Trail Boss ZR2!
